antique louis philippe double wardrobearmoire

Item Ref

A decorative and substantial antique pine double wardrobe in a subtle off-white paint finish.
Built at around 1870 in the style of French king Louis Philippe, showing off it's heritage with exquisitely carved crown , fine slender finials, leaved and scrolled chamfered side mouldings -top and bottom, similarly fine carved feet, paneled sides and doors.
The 2 drawers are faux drawers, made this way originally! Behind them inside is what is commonly know as a "shoe-well", a general storage place.
The wardrobe is fitted with a new brass rail and has an original working lock and key.
As most continental wardrobes this one also dismantles for transport and access and comes with full assembly instructions.
To mention is a scattering of historic wood worm holes , mainly in the back boards, so precautionary the whole wardrobe has been treated thoroughly.
