Dating from the 1870ies, a very pleasing Continental glazed cabinet in painted pine.
Almost certainly used in the parlour of a good house to display precious porcelain and silver.
The cabinet has a practical size, to fit in most alcoves or recesses.
Style attributes of the late Victorian era, carved classic decoration, reeded columns, break fronted detail, deeply moulded panels, original pewter escutcheons,lock and key.
The inside is fitted with 3 original wide shelves to give optimum space.
In overall great condition, with signs of usage / character, but no structural damage.
A strip of old wood worm holes in the back boards, only visible from the outside, clean inside, treated.
A decorative and useful piece of original pine furniture.
