Dating from the 1850ies, a very pleasing Northern European vitrine /display cabinet of good quality.
Almost certainly used in the parlour of a good house to display precious porcelain and silver.
The cabinet is a practical size, to fit in most alcoves or recesses.
Style attributes:
* deep cornice and sweet heart crown top
* rounded corners
* external steel drop hinges, doors open 180 degrees
* deeply fielded door panels
* brass escutcheons
* originalhand blown glass!
* original locks and keys
* spacious drawer with matching handle
The inside is fitted with three movable shelves on a ladder system to give optimum space.
In overall excellent condition, painted over the original brown scrumble in a warm beige, original sage green paint inside.
An exceptionally stylish, clean and useful piece of early pine furniture.
