A graceful and decorative antique pine farmhouse settle, dating from the mid to late 19th century in excellent condition.
Typical deeply swept arm rests with barred panel sides, double cabriole legs and arms, a double panelled back further decorated with a swept back rest..
Found in this style from Scandinavia to Hungary, often used in farmhouse kitchens to seat the farm workers or sleep the children.
This bench is in sound structural condition. A small repair on the back leg, minimal signs of old worm holes, treated and obsolete.
A sought after size.
The paint on this settle is recent, a muted warm grey, a regency style colour in a flat matt finish, slightly distressed and buffed.
A wonderful witness of times gone by and a loved piece of furniture!!
