A rare single period pine wardrobe, dating back to the mid 19th century, late Regency / Biedermeier / early Victorian period.
Origin is northern Europe, most likely Denmark or Northern Germany, made from the finest Scandinavian pine.
Style typically simple with clean lines and minimal ornamentation:
* plain country style
* exceptional pediment and cornice
* dove tailed throughout
* shoe well
* original peg rail
* external hand forged hinges, door opening 180 degrees
* original iron escutcheon
* original lock and key
* original high bracket base
* a new rail will be added upon request, shelves optional, please enquire.
The wardrobe is exceptionally clean throughout, it looks like it was made yesterday... but it is nearly 200 years old.
The pointed pediment frame on the top of the wardrobe can be removed if needed, either for access or height restrictions.
Internal depth is deep enough for hanging, 18" or 460mm.
As most Continental wardrobes do, this one also conveniently dismantles for access and transport.
A handy size period country wardrobe for the smaller space, with easy access.
