A rustic yet elegant example of a mid to late 19th century pine farmhouse settle in traditional style.
The pleasing shape is typical of that period and this style ranges from Scandinavia to southern Europe.
Elegant swan neck arm rests, straight tapered legs, elaborate wavy back with a centre lyre support, plain spindles and a good flat seat, slightly moulded at the edge.
The body is sturdy, pegged and tenon jointed and stands well, solid good legs front and back.
No structural damage, minimal traces of old worm scattered, treated of course and obsolete.
The repainted finish is a smooth pale blue ( Crown Regency Range ), minimal distressing.
A very elegant and pretty settle, very hard to find in this size.
