Traditional country dining table with two extension leaves, mid 19th century.
Practical and indispensable in a smaller size kitchen or dining area, this very tidy table can be used as a four or 6 seater.
Unusual and rarely found, this table is made entirely from Mulberry wood, a heavy and rich country timber.
The colour and grain reminicent of chestnut.
The turned leg base is pretty and sturdy and has the added benefit of 3 stretchers for added stability.
The top is clean and bread board ended, the leaves are clean and move easily. The beautifully rich Mulberry colour is outstanding.
Both leaves of the table can be used independently, to accommodate various amounts of people. they are slightly wider than the top, for reasons unknown, but function and look are not impaired.
A fine find and a useful, pretty country table.
