antique early victorian pine mirror back sideboard 1850

Item Ref

A rather lovely early Victorian, yet quite countryfied, mirrorback side board.
Found in a very old farmhouse in Cambridgeshire, not disturbed for aeons...
The sideboard is made from pine, was found in original painted oak scumble, but just lent itself to being painted in this great shade, 'Mole's Breath', by Farrow and Ball.
All parts of this piece are original, the 6mm thick glass, undamaged, the carvings on the mirror frame, quite splendid.
The original six feet nicely turned with ball finish, the serpentined drawers and shapely panelled doors all in excellent condition. A full set of brass handles, locks, keys, all working.
Certainly a good piece of original pine, rarely found now in this condition.
No repairs, no worm, fantastic wide back boards, running horizontally.
The mirror itself could be used as an overmantle, so the side board could serve as a side table or indeed a server.
Glad to own this for now...
